A well-established and highly respected law firm in Birmingham, Alabama specializing in Divorce & Family Law, Criminal Defense, Probate, and Adoptions is seeking a Senior Paralegal who brings maturity, discretion, coordination, follow-through, support, and seasoned judgment to every interaction.
This is a long-term position designed for someone who takes true ownership of their work and understands that the operational excellence of a legal practice depends greatly on their role.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal pleadings (complaints, answers, counterclaims, and motions)
- Handle electronic filings through Alafile and appellate systems
- Prepare and manage discovery requests and subpoenas
- Follow up with opposing counsel and coordinate responses
- Work directly with clients to gather documentation
- Organize and process discovery (clients, opposing parties, and third parties)
- Build case notebooks and prepare exhibits
- Conduct Alacourt and public records research
- Maintain case files and track billable time (Clio)
- Support calendar management and important legal deadlines
What We Offer
- Salary: $3,000 monthly with growth opportunity overtime
- Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Advanced English
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or legal services environment
- Demonstrated experience directly supporting an attorney or senior executive
- Strong foundation in legal document preparation and case management
- High emotional intelligence: ability to read situations, communicate professionally, and act with tact
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong follow-through mentality
- Professionalism and comfort working with high-profile and high-net-worth clients
- Absolute discretion and respect for confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research/case management systems
- Excellent attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn
Pluses
- Being a law graduate in the US
- Experience in Divorce, Family Law, Criminal Defense, Estate, Probate & Adoption
