Full job description
A growing immigration law practice is seeking a highly detail-oriented and reliable Remote Bookkeeper & Legal Accounting Specialist to support financial operations, trust account management, bookkeeping activities, reconciliations, and compliance processes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, follows established procedures carefully, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting a professional and structured work environment
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and financial transactions
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Manage and reconcile IOLTA trust accounts with accuracy and compliance
- Track government filing fees and client-related expenses
- Monitor recurring payments, subscriptions, insurance policies, and vendor accounts
- Process and categorize income and expenses
- Prepare financial summaries and management reports
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Support cash flow monitoring and forecasting discussions
- Maintain audit-ready financial records
Administrative Support
- Provide occasional administrative assistance
- Maintain organized financial documentation
- Manage bookkeeping-related emails and correspondence
- Follow established documentation and reporting procedures
- Assist with financial-related projects as assigned
Requirements
- Advanced English required (spoken and written)
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant
- Strong QuickBooks experience
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook and business email systems
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience performing reconciliations and account analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong accountability and follow-through
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Bookkeeper or Accountant
- CPA designation or CPA-level experience highly preferred
- Experience working with law firms or professional service firms
- Experience managing IOLTA trust accounts or escrow accounts
- Experience with Camp Legal software
- Understanding of legal accounting compliance requirements
- CFO-minded approach with the ability to provide financial insights
- Experience supporting U.S.-based businesses remotely
